Sam Evans’ work has been central to his personal development.
Following a psychotic episode and a period in hospital, Sam walked the streets of Cardiff, using drawing as a way of discovering his place in the world, to find an anchorage in a turbulent phase of his life.
Gradually, these landscapes became more playful as Sam experimented with fantastical explorations of his emotional response to a place.
Now relocated to London, Sam continues his journey, referencing historical portrayals of the city in the work of artists such as J M W Turner.
