Adam Shield's (Studio 5-15) solo exhibition Amp Envelope opens on Tuesday 19th July, 6.30-8.30pm, all welcome. Adam's work opens up drawing and collage as a means of exploring interior worlds; with imagery encompassing references distilled from post-apocalyptic science fiction writing, dystopian dream projectors, seventeenth century alchemy and everyday encounters with political, societal and economic structures. For the third iteration of The Showroom Mural Commission, Shield’s recurring motif of a hand-painted grid will wrap around our emblematic facade as the framework for a new collaborative mural. Building upon a period of collaborative research in the local neighbourhood, Church Street Library & histories of radical community print groups, an in-situ printmaking workshop will create the context for a programme of free drawing, print and poster-making sessions running on weekends throughout the exhibition. The Showroom, 63 Penfold Street, London NW8 8PQ. www.theshowroom.org Preview: Tuesday 19 July, 6.30-8.30pm Exhibition dates: 20 July–17 September, open Wednesday-Saturday, 12-6pm.
