SooMin Leong and Rob White (Studio TW-129) present recent work in Thames-Side Studios Lounge.

Both artists investigate landscape and their surroundings with perceptions based on memory and experience. Rob White focuses on presenting a snapshot of time of an imagined event whilst SooMin Leong takes the audience on a journey to explore the unknown.

SooMin’s practice is inspired by a focus on the transition from one place to another, both through literal journeys and in terms of the journey of the printing process itself. Each piece is a story informed by the experience or impression of a place and the journey.

Rob White’s work explores how colour and mood are interconnected. The work sits on the edge of landscape and abstract; a window to another world. The use of colour is sometimes apocalyptic, hot and fiery, and sometimes cool and calm, a satisfying place to inhabit.
