David Tebbs
David Tebbs' paintings derive from the everyday experience of urban life in London. Station platforms, staircases, parks and playgrounds become stages where a single figure or group of figures interact with one another and their surroundings. The familiarity of the regular commute between home and studio at different times of the day, night and season is particularly relevant to this experience. David hopes to create a tension between the familiar and somewhat known with the unexpected and chance encounters. The value of these transient moments has become more apparent to us all in the last two years of having to adapt to a more restricted way of life.
